Test Dates: July 16th, 1996 to Aug 13, 1996
Pool Type: Indoor 20' X 40'
Gas Heated

We installed a gas meter so that only the gas used for pool water heat was measured. We borrowed a HEAT$AVR injection system from Flexible Solutions Ltd. and were given 1 letre of HEAT$AVR for the test.

To find out what the pools normal gas consumption is we monitored the pool for 14 days with no HEAT$AVR and then did a 14 day test using 2oz per day of HEAT$AVR injected automatically at 10 pm each night. Here are our results.

No HEAT$AVR HEAT$AVR Used
Gas Used 60 000 cu.ft. 27 000 cu.ft.
Gas Cost $272.40 $122.58
% Saving 55%
$ Saving $149.82
Cost of HEAT$AVR used: $11.20
Net Savings: $138.62

As nearly as possible, all temperature settings and pool operations including bather load were the same during the whole test. Our savings in dollars were calculated using a price of $4.54 per 1000 cu.ft. taxes included. During the winter months our gas costs increase to $5.96 per 1000 cu.ft. With those higher prices, HEAT$AVER will be even more valuable.
