RAW DATA Week #1 - Feb 23 to Mar 2 No
HEAT$AVR no blanket, readings taken at
noon
Blanket
was used, readings taken at noon
HEAT$AVR
was used, readings taken at noon
* electricity cost of $0.0694/KWH taxes included ENERGY SAVINGS - Gross per 50 week year
There
are certain costs associated with
achieving the savings above whether a
blanket or HEAT$AVR is chosen. Blankets
cost money to buy and worker time to put
on and take off. HEAT$AVR cost money too
and the auto injection system has an
initial cost and a 7 year lifespan.
Wages:
20 min/day @ $12.70, HEAT$AVR at regular
retail cost/98, blanket at current tax in
quote of $3420 and testimated lifespan of
three years, HEAT$AVR pump at retail with
taxes and estimated lifespan of seven
years.
Based on this test, it can be stated that large amounts of money can be saved by using either a standard pool blanket or HEAT$AVR. The pool blanket is more effective by $1,367.19 per year. A decision must also take into account the cost of blanket rollers and the deck space they consume. Error Possibility In the raw data it must be noted that there were four hours of makeup water during the week that HEAT$AVR was tested as compared to 2 with the blanket and 3 with nothing at all. It is likely that this extra makeup water on Mar. 9 relates to the previous two weeks and has skewed the effectiveness of HEAT$AVR slightly. Looking at the raw data for the #1 meter suggests that conservatively, 10 hours of heater time per week has been added to the HEAT$AVR data. This is $1,041.00 of electricity per year. (50 weeks X 10 hours X 30 KWH X $0.0694)
