ENERGY CONSUMPTION DATA
This report was compiled by Mr. Dan O'Brien of Flexible Solutions Ltd. at the request of the City of Vancouver Parks and Recreation Department. Energy use and price data are from BC Gas records passed to Mr. O'Brien by the Parks and Recreation Department. All use of the product HEAT$AVR was by parks personel. The
only change that was made to the data is
to convert 1993 energy to 1994 prices so
that an even comparison can be made.
It is well known that in an outdoor pool variation in air tempurature and rainfall can change the amount of energy required to heat a pool. Therefore average tempurature and total rainfall data was obtained for the test and control periods from the Vancouver Airport weather office (see above table). 1994 was 9 mm less rainy and 0.63 degrees C warmer than 1993. These differences are so small that they can be ignored for the purpose of this report.
