Test overview : The country club pool is 3600 sq.ft. in surface area in an irregular straight edged shape with a removable dome enclosure. The dome was in place during the test so the pool is classed as indoor. There is an air handling system of limited capacity in one corner of the pool room but it is too small and poorly situated to give full air quality control. A control period with no HEAT$AVR was done from April 7 to April 22 in order to find out the normal energy consumption of the pool. Then an auto matic injection system and HEAT$AVR were used from April 23 to May 12.
NOTES: This test shows a reduction in energy use of about 10%. But is should be noted that air temperature and humidity were down while water temperature was up during the HEAT$AVR period. All of these items would cause a pool to use more energy under normal (no HEAT$AVR) circumstances. Therefore it is likely that the energy savings were higher than 10%. HEAT$AVR is not at it's most effective in a high humidity, low air exchange pool such as this one so an energy saving of 10% plus is at the bottom end of the possible result range. HEAT$AVR will save more than enough energy to pay for itself in this pool. To eliminate any possiblity of unequal conditions during the test the pool management should be asked if the following were roughly equal. 1. make up water 2. hours of use per day 3. bather load.
