The engineering team connected a gas meter to the heater for the wader pool. They kept track of the gas used for one week without using HEAT$AVR. Then a daily dose of 0.75 ounces of HEAT$AVR was added to the wader pool manually for one week. They noted the energy usage for this week with HEAT$AVR in the pool. CONTROL

RESULTS
** cost of gas = $0.32/Therm CONCLUSION The result of this two week test was a 34% reduction in energy use, which equals potential net savings of approximately $396.96 per year. In other words, for every dollar spent on HEAT$AVR for the wader pool, Four Seasons Resort Aviara will save approximately $4.80 (Payback ratio of 4.8:1). It is important to note that this will be the annual savings for the 300 sq. ft. wader pool. This does not include the potential savings for the main swimming pool, which has 4600 sq. ft. HEAT$AVR will save energy in every pool, but heat cost savings vary according to several factors including the type and cost of fuel used, and hours of swimmer use per day. Tests have shown savings ranging from 15% (at high-use municipal pools), to 40% (at low-use condominium pools). Based on previous tests with similar sized, gas heated pools, The Four Seasons Resort Aviara is likely to see savings of between 20% to 30% in its main swimming pool. |
