Heat$avr Efficiency Test Procedure
Directions for Testing in Your Commercial Pool
- Install an energy meter so that only the energy used to maintain pool water temperature is measured.
- Measure the surface area of the pool(s) to determine the daily dosage - 1 oz. per 400 sq. ft. per day.
Daily dosage = _________________
- Day 1 at 4pm - note the meter reading _________________
- Day 8 at 4pm - note the meter reading _________________
- Day 8 - Add the recommended dosage of HEAT$AVR at the end of the day, when your pool closes. Continue to add the product every evening (or as close to the pool closing time as possible) for the next seven days.
- Day 15 at 4pm - note the meter reading __________________
The test is complete. Outdoor pools will need to obtain weather records from the local airport for the whole test period to be sure that the test was reasonably fair. Average daily temperature and daily rainfall are the important numbers.
Please be sure that the following pool procedures are followed for the whole test:
- Pool water temperature must be the same for the whole test.
- If you backwash in week one, you must do the same in week two, and if you don't backwash in week one, please don't in week two.
- Backwashing and make up water adding must be done at least two days prior to meter readings.
- For reliable test results, meter readings must be done at the same time of day.
